every night i take a sleeping pill
and booze
and it feels so out
the exit sign
i wonder
what would it be like if there was a pill that lasted longer
what if i could sleep longer
fifteen hours
maybe two days
what if i could sleep for years
just be inside that place
not wake up
just inside the silly mind
of dreams and detachment
in a way
inside a world separate from others
in which the others are solely created from our fears and hopes
and yes they still bring horrors
and then
there are also smiles
and a look
what if one could do that
sleep for years
just be away
that would be so beautiful
so safe
and what was it like
years ago
when somebody loved you
when they called you
and you would hear their voice on that tiny plastic thing, that phone
and they were curious
and they wanted to know
what was that like
